Today’s ride: 123km, 7 hours (including drinks/lunch stops), 35 degree heat, one deluge of rain, one road-killed horse, so many potholes -> standard #SambaCycle.
And that’s my last day of cycling over 100km, which I’ve done 20 times in the past four and a bit months, and trust me, in these conditions (ie. hot + heavy bike) it’s bloomin tiring. Yes, on Monday we’re doing 96km so almost another ton, but psychologically it’s less far so somehow easier!
Right now me and Martin are spending our Saturday night resting in yet another cheap hotel room in yet another highway-straddling town (Maracacume) after scoffing lots of meat, rice and fizzy pop at yet another churrascaria. And it’s tudo bom = all good!
More about the previous two days to follow…
