Blimey, double figures, after 3.5 months of cycling I’ve now visited 10 out of the 12 World Cup football stadiums. So only 2 more to go!
The Arena das Dunas is a unique design “with the stadium’s daring undulating structure designed to imitate” the city’s famous sand dunes. I think it looks futuristic from the outside, and feels intimate inside, which is a great combo.
I was joined at this visit by my parents (wearing matching branded t-shirts!), Denis my CS host here in Natal, and also Chris Westwood who’s a QPR fan living in Brazil – he’s written some great articles on the INBrasil2014 blog and has really supported my journey via Twitter.
PS. I wanted to share this for those of you who don’t follow me on FB or Twitter (you can find more #SambaCycle pics and info on both)… check out this language school that I passed by near the stadium!
PPS. Massive thanks to Denis and his family for being truly incredible hosts to us Smiths here in Natal! What stunning hospitality, topped off last night by a lovely dinner at their beautiful home – a really great evening, thankyou!
